Sarah Allen Benton is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Emmanuel College in Boston, where she is co-leader of an alcohol skills training program directed to help problem drinkers, and author of Understanding the High-Functioning Alcoholic: Professional Views and Personal Insights. Benton earned a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University and is currently the vice-president of the Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation of Greater Boston. She previously held several counselor positions at McLean Psychiatric Hospital and has been involved in psychologically based research studies with McLean, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Northeastern University and the Boston University Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders. Benton has been sober since February 2004.
