Suzianne D. Painter-Thorne is an Assistant Professor of Law at the Mercer University School of Law in Macon, Georgia, where she teaches Legal Writing and American Indian Law.

Professor Painter-Thorne holds a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Maryland, College Park; and a J.D. from the University of California, Davis. She is a member of the California State Bar.

Before joining the Mercer faculty, Professor Painter-Thorne served as a law clerk to the Honorable Harry Pregerson on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
