He has conducted a series of online Web Seminars on marketing for the last six years through his Professional Business Development Institute. He is also a well-known speaker on marketing topics. Larry has made many public presentations for the Legal Marketing Association, American Bar Association Annual Meeting, the North Carolina Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, LegalTech, the Pitney Bowes Client Advisory Meeting, the Association of Legal Administrators, the Community Associations Institute, Meritas legal network, the Practice Development Institute (Chicago), the Marketing Directors Institute, and the Hildebrandt Institute.

He has facilitated partner retreats and spoken at firm retreats for law firms in Washington, D.C., Chicago, Buffalo, Cleveland, Hartford, Omaha, Richmond, Sacramento, San Francisco, and other cities.

He is the former Director of Communications of Sidley, Austin Brown & Wood where he served for eight years. He has 15 years’ experience as a journalist, serving as Editor and Publisher of the American Bar Association Journal, the National Law Journal, Lawyers Alert (renamed Lawyers USA) and other news publications.

He practiced law in Madison, Wisconsin and is a cum laude graduate of both Seton Hall University and Amherst College.

He has launched several online ventures that are considered the top destinations online for information about law firm marketing. He founded the LawMarketing Listserv in 1996, which is online email discussion group; The LawMarketing Portal Web site, a news and information Web site that gets 97,000 unique visitors per month; the bi-weekly LawMarketing e-Newsletter, which is broadcast to 4,000 marketers across North America; and the Professional Marketing Blog.
